Anon: You talk about cloud not looking old enough to be Prom's dad - what is he, an escapee from the lab (either Hojo or Mt labs) or is he like an immortal wanderer like I've read a couple of times?

So this is a point where I feel like I should remind everyone that you should always be aware of who’s POV I’m holding in a fic because there are often lines that reveal a thing about the “speaker” as much as they do the “subject”

Cloud’s age in relation to being Prom’s dad is one of those things.

Although escapee from lab is… at least partially right. That isn’t the reason Cloud looks young to be Prom’s dad though. Cloud looks young to be Prom’s dad because he had Prom when he was like 17 and Cor (our POV & “speaker”) is used to people having children when they’re like 30-40 (well in their 20s at least). So Cloud, who is now only IN his late-30s looks younger than what Cor expected Prom’s father to look like.

Anon: Seeing that I've guess it mostly wrong can you tell us about XV cloud please?

So to start with I’ve transposed most of Shinra’s internals onto Niflheim’s military structure. And by “most of” I mean Hojo. Also Seph… but we’ll get to him. Oh and they were able to sell themselves as a positive for the people the way Shinra was at least until later at some point (partially because it makes sense, partially because it works for this idea).

A lot of how Cloud ended up there follows the basic premise of him in FFVII/Crisis Core (comes from a isolated town, was bullied, joined the military to make a name for himself, etc etc). So he joins the Niflheim military young like he did with Shinra and Zack might exist and have taken him under his wing (I’m still not sure on that point).

Hojo is around working for Niflheim basically doing what he did for Shinra - that is human experiments with study/obsession of history. He’s in a separate branch to Verstael and a rival to him for funds/praise/whatever else those psychos want. Cloud is experimented on by Hojo being injected with… whatever Mako is going to effectively be in this verse (Demonblood? Probably TBH).

And then we hit what I call the ‘mpreg’ split. Which is where the narrative splits depending on if I’m allowed mpreg or not.

If I’m allowed mpreg (which, it’s me, you knew this shit was coming) Prom is Seph’s kid carried by Cloud. Who Seph gained interest in through SOME EVENT that I’m still not sure about. And that’s the reason Hojo becomes so focused on him (the child of his “perfect solider”). Seph still becomes well… the more well known version of him it’s just more of a slow rot into the crazy he operates at in the Main Game compared to Crisis Core.

If I’m not allowed mpreg Prom is Cloud’s kid carried by Aerith (who has some connection with the gods/planets ala her being an Ancient in FFVII). Hojo is interested in the child because of the Aerith connection (and child getting that bloodline). Seph doesn’t become interested in Cloud until Cloud kills him during his escape where we have a lot more of FFVII’s revival=crazy going on.

In both these verses Aerith is probably currently running around doing some Luna-esque shit (communicating with gods/generally preparing things for the ‘heroes’ arrival) in the background.

EITHER WAY Hojo is the main threat at that current time and the reason Cloud flees with Prom.

Once out of my Niflheim/Shinra highbred Cloud makes his way to Insomnia with baby Prom (with the help of Tifa and Weskham). When Prom is old enough to take care of himself Cloud realises that Seph is hunting him down (because Seph is now WELL into FFVII’s Main Game Cloud-obsessed crazy through either of our two options) and gets a job doing risky deliveries outside the city to try and keep Seph from finding out about Prom. He also takes on hunts as he passes through the towns but very much tries to limit his contact with people out of fear of Seph’s attention being drawn onto them. Thus bringing us to the position of the ficlets.

And Prom knows NONE of this.

Anon: 1/2 Your Cloud seemed to have had an… interesting life. Poor Cloud. Do you mind if I go on a bit about this idea? Like I'm a little more interested in pre-canon because I love Insomnia and all the lore about it. The idea of someone find out about Cloud's past earlier seems that it could be interesting - like Seph must be very high up in the command chain, he was General in vii so in XV he must be nearer to Ravus' power. And this man is known to be interested in a random refugee in Insomnia 2/2  Who’s son just so happens to be friends with the prince? Something is fishy here. Questioning Prom gets nothing. In the mpreg world telling them Prom is Seph’s and he was trying to avoid him finding out about Prom would be easier to explain at least. There’s still the “how do you know him” but Cloud’s got a little more leeway. In the other universe Cloud is a little more stuck and I have no idea what happens. Then there’s the whole thing of “dad why didn’t you tell me about these things

So, in my defense EVERYTHING but the Prom thing is basically me superimposing Cloud’s actual storyline from FFVII onto this verse (except of instead of Prom it being him protecting it’s the rest of his group + Marlene & Denzel in Advent Children).

However against my defense doing horrible things to Cloud Strife is KIND OF my modus operandus (I mean one of my earliest fics posted is of him carrying the Seph remnants)

But oh yes please go on with any ideas I post. I’m totally a person who loves sharing ideas and exploring different paths down.

With my current baseline idea for it the way I deal with a lot of the stuff you brought up is that Seph went AWOL sometime relatively soon after Cloud left (thanks to him storming out or him dying… by Cloud’s hand and being revived and not returning). He is very much NOT under Niflheim’s control and just generally doing whatever the fuck he wants and causing problems for literally everything (much like he does in FFVII). So nobody knows about his focus on Cloud because they’re both acting so singularly there’s nobody around to notice. At least not until Seph shows up at Altissia in his full one-wing 12ft-sword-wielding glory to goad Prompto.

Also Seph is the one to tell Prom which goes down just swell because Seph is not above manipulating the story (in either verse) to try and drag Prom along with him to get to Cloud (including leaving implications open about certain things).

But okay enough about my ideas now more on yours.

I feel like Ravus is probably in the best position to put two-and-two together. Also maybe Aranea. Because they have the best chance of being able to go through old Empire records (especially if Hojo has been maybe pushed out/killed because his records are less closely guarded) to find out who exactly this person is that fucking Sephiroth is so obsessed with. For anyone in Lucius to find out they’d need to have a spy get hold of those records and the knowledge that Seph is obsessed (which I feel like the Empire would try to cover up).

Which then gets us to the question of: what would they assume from that? Would they assume Prom is a spy on the prince? That Cloud had pushed his son to get closer to the prince in order to get royal protection from his very strong (both politically and physically) stalker? Maybe the Lucians did know who Prom is and are effectively holding him hostage from Seph/the Empire? All they know is that Prom is probably a LOT more important than they first assumed.

I mean the reason Cloud is keeping a lot of it secret from Prom is fairly simple: shame. He’s ashamed he ended up in the situation at all (not necessary having Prom but the fact he signed up to join the army, allowed himself to be experimented on, had a child while there). Of course convincing Prom of that fact is a different thing.

I feel like the Seph thing is probably actually the harder one just because of the really glaring, immediate assumption when you have a person fleeing another who is clearly violent, controlling, and psychotic. Sure it makes better sense as to why Cloud kept it hidden but… the situation sits heavier on Prom’s conscious.

For the Aerith one… it at least explains why Pryna was attracted to Prom as a child - he’s carrying the bloodline that has a connection with the gods (because that would be the closest analogy for the Ancients). Cloud might get an out with “I didn’t want you to have to deal with that responsibility until you had to” because Prom knowing those things puts him at risk (especially when he’s close friends with the Prince and things might slip out in conversation). Also, hell, Cloud might get an out by “Aerith told me not to tell you anything until the time was right” because if the person in contact with the gods tells you to keep your mouth shut, keeping your mouth shut might be a good idea (especially if it lines up with what you want to do anyway).

Oh also Ardyn knows ALL about what happened. Because he’s Ardyn so of COURSE he knows (that’s not really relevant to either of the points here I just wanted it known).

Anon: Ardyn seems to know everything and it's ridiculous! Someone, somewhere needs to surprise him he's getting too smug. Cloud, please. And you're adding Sephiroth to the shitshow that is the Leviathan area? It's already one of the worst days in their life, ever. Now you add Prom's insane dad('s stalker)? Poor guys

And oh yeah someone needs to get the upper-hand on Ardyn. Although I feel like that probably happens somewhere in the “vague zone” of this idea… which is everything post the train ride.

And oh no I’m not adding Seph to the shitshow that is the Leviathan plot. I’m adding him to the DAY BEFORE the shitshow that is the Leviathan plot. Seph just wanted to plant the seeds of doubt into Prompto’s mind before he starts heading further towards Niflheim/finding out his past. So Prom get to suddenly have all this worry about the reason he was born/circumstances he was born into/general what-was-his-past but no time to deal with it (other than a phone-call to Cloud’s messagebank) because they have to deal with Leviathan tomorrow!

Anon: I'm guessing the rest of the bros where there when Prom had a chat with his dad('s stalker Seph look at your life decisions) that would be an… interesting conversation to have, after their talk with Seph (if they had it) even if they weren't the prom would be obviously shaken and trying to play it off cool. And if only Cloud answered his phone. Cloud why.

I think the other bros are with him yeah (would be one of those things where it would depend on how I wrote it and what I realised I needed). And, I mean, that situation would be so almost contrary to what they’re used to. I mean firstly this is a man who anyone who isn’t high up in the Empire (so Ardyn, and probably Ravus) is running scared from, has a presence that nobody in FFXV quiet reaches (Ardyn is threatening but it’s more in a itch in the back of your head way while Seph is a CLEAR OPEN Danger sight), also he targets Prom, not Noct. Not completely out of their experience but certainly enough to throw the lot of them. So at least Prom isn’t alone in his being completely thrown from it.

Prom still tries to play it cool and not at all like he’s terrified out of his mind because firstly his deep dark secret has been revealed to Noct (the fact he’s originally from Niflheim), and secondly because his view of the world has been turned upside down. He’s trying to push it aside because he needs to be there for Noct who’s facing Leviathan’s trial the next day. He is failing.

Of course the other’s wouldn’t let him get away with that and would be comforting him as best as they could. Although I do think they’d let him ring Cloud alone because they get that he probably wants this kept somewhat private (although probably watching closely to make sure he doesn’t sneak off).

Just generally ALL of them are going to be dealing with the combined stress of what Seph revealed/implied and what Noct will be facing tomorrow.

Anon: Continuing along the path of an au of an au, I'm guessing Cor and Cloud's first meeting would be Cor thinking Cloud is a possible nif spy and Cloud being like "damn" (on a side note, I think About C vs C, Cloud would win. It would be tough, thought.) and let's say Seph still had his job - that's a powerful thing they've got there. And depending on what happens, Regis could meet with his fellow dad, but a lot differently than expected.

I mean aus of aus are often a thing I play around with (a lot of my fandom playing around is like a rabbit hole filled with aus of aus that connect up with other aus).

That assumption that Cloud is possibly a Nif spy is part of the reason I had it that they had only known about him in a very loose sense in the ficlet, because it’s a pretty fair assumption - especially if they have ANY loosely connected info about Cloud. Because unless you get the exact details (parent of an IMPORTANT child) all you get it “very important person who is also very unknown partially through Hojo’s intervention”. And Cloud being Cloud would probably be very defensive and very evasive when questioned about such things because he has DAMNED good reason to not trust authority.

I agree that Cloud would probably win if it came to a fight between him and Cor. Partially because Cloud is the protag of his origin game and normally they will be stronger than support characters (unless they’re like Gilgamesh where they’re mythical powerhouses or Seph/Lingering Remnant in KH where they’re post-game bosses). But I also agree it’d be a pretty close fight.

Ultimately though if Cloud reveals half of what is happening keeping him AND Prom safe would become pretty high priority. Because if the Empire wants Prom because of the power in his bloodline then having him on the Lucian side is a good thing because they get “control” of the power he could potentially wield. And Cloud is just a good bargaining/manipulating chip when it comes to Seph (because if FFVII games, Dissidias, AND KH have taught me anything it’s that Seph can be completely derailed from previous alliances/goals if “get to fight Cloud” is offered as an alternative).

I feel like if Regis met Cloud earlier he’d probably end up becoming, or at least trying to become, somewhat of a parental mentor for him. Because, okay, say they figure this all out when Prom is 5, Cloud is still only 22. While Regis was (from what my quick googling + math says) 30 when Noct was BORN. He’s now 35. Cloud would look like a baby to him. A baby who has a child who may or may not have some of the world’s destiny on his shoulders as well (depending on how that bloodline pans out).

On the other than they would then have this problem of Cloud being fairly certain his kid is safe and going to be protected and thus wanting to bolt himself to a) lead Seph the hell away from Prom; b) cause the minimum amount of potential gossip surrounding Prom & people finding out he was born in Niflheim.

Anon: Now I'm thinking of some sort of crack idea where Niflheim is going to attack Lucis and it's all very dramatic and important and important people like Aldercapt and Regis are there - but it all depends on Glauda and Seph to do things and everything is v. Tense standoff time - and in walks Cloud, prom's "civilian" dad who's like "seph hi" and Seph immediately abandons ship to attack Cloud stopping the empires plans completely. Saving Insomnia and Lucis from the war

I mean that’s… basically what would happen. I mean Cloud would probably have to lead him on a merry chase away from wherever they are meeting or else Seph would want to throw down right there right now but he would follow. Completely single-mindedly the while time monologuing about how he was going to “possess” and “conquer” and how Cloud should just “accept his submission” (I don’t even mean these in a shippy sense I mean these in a pure “prove myself superior” sense).

However Seph had WARNING Cloud would be there in which case he’d already though up a plan that would “satisfy” what his superiors want while also leading to him being in a position to have his dramatic one-on-one showdown with Cloud. Of course he wouldn’t TELL his superiors about it and the first they would hear about it is when he’s directed the whole party slightly off-route so he can do his villainous warning thing to Cloud before stalking off leaving Cloud confused and enraged.

Just quickly if anyone is wondering what I mean when I say Seph will fuck with what’s happening and derail it and even get in other villain’s ways in order to continue with his general obsession/dicking around with Cloud please watch this cutscene from the new Dissidia game:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vmVcyziGvI

(when the actual battle gameplay starts just skip to ~4min)

This is basically what he’s doing for the entirety of my Cloud is Prom’s dad AU.

Anon: So what exactly is sephiroths story in your au? Like why does he go mad and how does he know who/where prompto is? (Btw it is lovely to see you back :)

So his general background is basically the same: Hojo’s son/”perfect experiment”, experimented on while still a fetus, DNA infused with… something (I’m still not sure if I’m going to stick with Jenova and just convert her over to something in FFXV lore or change it to something in FFXV lore like something in connection with Ardyn) + demon blood (which is now what Mako is across board being convereted to). After that he was placed in the Niflheim army, was super good, conquered a bunch of land, became General.

He then either meets Cloud (and something happens that probably involves Cloud beating him in a fight) and becomes mildly fixated and thus Prompto’s conceived. OR he doesn’t notice Cloud exists until Cloud kills him during the escape with Prompto.

For how he goes mad it’s a combination of the demonblood and I wanna say the starscourge (which I know are connected/basically the same thing but they’re like different levels/operate differently in my head). Again it’s either done in a slow-rot way after Cloud leaves (although I feel like there would be foreshadowing warning signs before Cloud leaves because I’m a plotter and that works best) or when he ‘dies’ thanks to Cloud and gets revived (by starscourge and maybe Ifrit I’m still not sure about that last point) he comes back corrupted and now with an obsession with Cloud.

In both versions he knows Prompto was born because Hojo at least had interest in the child and it was probably somewhat common knowledge to those close to Hojo, knows Cloud took Prompto with him when he escaped (because he probably saw Cloud with Prompto escaping and/or killing him and/or isn’t an idiot and can put together “parent of child has left and child mysteriously gone missing = parent took child with them”). And he’s actually smart enough to probably realise Cloud’s trying to keep his attention away from the Crown City and thus that’s where Prompto is most likely. He just doesn’t care at that point in time because his priority fixation is Cloud and he isn’t going to try and get through the Lucian defenses to get to Prom when Cloud is running around being a much easier, much more satisfying target for him.

Then the events of the game happen and now Prompto is out of Crown City protection. Seph probably isn’t aware of this for a little until the Empire channels he’s still following/hacking reveal enough information about that member of the prince’s retinue to make Seph at least suspect who Prom is and even then still probably doesn’t care because Cloud is still the funner current target.

Then Prompto crosses the ocean and THAT’S when he becomes relevant to Seph because now if Seph plays his cards right he can use Prom to get Cloud to where he wants him (I feel like somewhere in Gralea where he wants to have their final showdown or whatever it is Seph plan with Cloud). Altissia just gives him the right opportunity to a) check he is right in who this is (which one look confirms oh hell yes); b) start planting the seeds he needs to in Prompto’s mind to be able to manipulate him later into Cloud!bait.

Anon: But what if Prompto turned out a bit differently from other clones because his creation had been an experiment with having a human incubate the clone, but they put it in too early or something and he got some dna from the one who carried him. Obviously the person (could be cloud for that headcannon?) would've been kidnapped or something, and not easy if possible at all to track down. It'd probably make Prompto feel a bit better, knowing he's not just one of hundreds exactly the same....

(I feel like I should slightly defend my Cloud as Promptos father thing - I will admit part of it is because Cloud, like Prompto, is one of my Chocobos and I take just about any opportunity to hurt or impregnate my Chocobos; however the other half is I’m a lazy writer/world-builder and it’s much easier to just transpose Cloud onto FFXV than it is to create a new character for ideas like this one… don’t have to build from the ground up so much as convert things. Also fucking look at them, I do this every time Square produces a new blond-spiky-haired-blue-eyed-twink).

I don’t think the person would have to be kidnapped. I mean, yes, kidnapping is an option, however I think before they’d resort to that they’d first try and find someone who would willingly allow them to do it. Which when you consider the fact that Niflheim was an actual place with an actual population of its own at one point it’s not that hard to see them spin propaganda to get a person to agree to it. Alternatively have someone whose already joined and tell them they’re doing this now - they’re too far deep to be able to say no, and probably know they’d be killed if they did anyway.

Of course if Prompto was the ONLY ONE they did like that it implies the experiment was deemed a complete failure (and not just a “well next time implant them later”). And that means the files were probably destroyed to try and cover up the existence of the failure. ESPECIALLY if the baby that resulted from it was… ah… liberated? By Lucas forces. Nope you don’t want anyone to know about it burn the files, especially those that might connect the carrier for it.

However I don’t think they’d be able to destroy all evidence of it (I mean something like that is sure to end up in the personal notes of someone who refuses to destroy anything of theirs in case in comes in use later) so it wouldn’t be impossible for Prompto to find it (or someone else to and give it to Prompto).

And it totally makes Prompto feel a bit better. Firstly because, as you said, he’s not one of hundreds exactly the same. Secondly though, he also has it as a reason why he’s not the exact same as the others - that he isn’t somehow inherently evil because he was mass-produced to be it but is his own person. Which, yes, not the best thought processes to have (”the clones are evil but I’m not because I also have another persons DNA”) but hey, when the other option is deep self-hatred, it’s a sturdy enough rock to cling to.

I feel like he’s then stuck in a horrible position of wanting to know more about the experiment that resulted in him (and the person who carried him) while also not wanting to know any more because that means looking into the human experimentation that resulted in him. And it hurts to think that he was just created to see if they could somehow make a better weapon. That the person who carried him wasn’t really considered as such so much as an alternative-potential-womb. It’s… a complicated emotional place to sit.

Anon: I'm not sure if you've discussed the triplets in the ffvii/ffxv crossover verse, but now i'm wondering what they'd be. force-grown clones that besithia did as a one-off experiment with the last bits of hojo's research? sephiroth isn't interested in prompto outside of his relation to cloud, but are the triplets more likely to go to prompto first since he's less protected, and cloud is too difficult a target? inquiring minds want to know.

I don’t think I have discussed them in the verse.

The thing is I’m not entirely sure when Hojo gets kicked out of the Niflheim research department/gets turned into a daemon. So he might very well have created the triplets after Sephiroth ‘died’, or yeah Besithia might have created them based on Hojo’s notes, or it might have started as a joint-project (Hojo using Besithia’s greater cloning tech and Besithia using Hojo’s knowledge about the Genova-equivilent). Regardless of how exactly they they were created they exist because after Sephiroth ‘died’ Niflheim wanted a replacement for his level of power.

They just also like immediately lost control of the triplets (possibly because of Ardyn meddling).

As for their interest in Prompto. In the verse Promtpo does have some of whatever I make the equivalent to Genova!cells in him (either through being Sephiroth’s child as well or being Cloud’s child + potentially a bit of additional cells injected into him as a baby). So like to the triplets Prompto is another of their “siblings”. So unless Sephiroth actually finds them and gets them to do what he wants they have the same level of interest in Prompto as they do Cloud (that being wanting to get them to join their cause).

Which in effect probably means they end up more Prompto’s antagonist in the verse while Sephiroth is more Cloud’s. They just also probably don’t who up until Prompto ends up in Niflheim because they’re kind of still there and Prompto without his party makes him an easy target.

Anon: Any thoughts on who Prom ends up with in the ffvii/ffxv crossover? Poly chocobros? What combination of baby(ies) do they have? I love this verse so much. (also good luck on your exam!)

So this is a bit further ahead than my (tentative) planning has reached (I’m still not quiet yet to Zegnautus keep), but I’ll give it a shot.

I’d say pairing wise I’d either do the OT4 (but I mean - that’s my default) or Noct/Prom. But that might be slightly based on the chat I had with someone in PMs about this verse where we started playing around with the idea of Sephiroth (and therefore Prompto or effectively Prompto) having like an old-lost NIflheim Royal Family in his bloodline so in a way Noctis/Prompto marriage being symbolic of the peace between everyone. But I mean that concept works pretty well with Sephiroth just being a high-ranking Niff General as well. Also it’d probably freak Cloud out a bit because of his anxiety about authority and his son being used as just a pawn in others games which is a nice narrative element.

As for what combination of child/ren they have honestly that’s even further in the gray of planning. I know they have at least one (and that it’s probably something of a quick pregnancy after or maybe even before they marry). But after that? IDK. Probably at least one other one????

Anon: Turns out that Han knew where Luke was all that time. Chewie tells Kylo this at some point (They could have captured him, or maybe Chewie keep hop for him and convinced him even after Han was gone.) Ray is off somewhere, and suddenly hears "What do you mean I have at least eighteen half siblings!"

Me:

oh gods poor Luke (are you insides okay bby?)

But seriously, hopefully Kylo doesn’t have his lightsaber on him because if he did a lot of things are going to get very smashed.

Hans’ probably glad he’s dead TBH. Because if Ben had half the chance he’d bring him back to life just to kill him again (and TBH probably so would Leia)

(But I mean a small army of Skywalker siblings is an idea that makes me very happy)

TBH when I explore the hypothetical of Rey + Ben being half-siblings I see them both being accidents.

Ben is a “oh shit we didn’t mean to get pregnant yet oh well we were probably going to have a child eventually” accident while Rey is a “oh shit we didn’t realize pregnancy was a thing that could happen (seeing our ages and the fact it hadn’t happened yet) oh well its not like we mind” accident.

Basically they are both accidents but like the exact opposite kind of accident to each other.

The fact that Obi Wan is pregnant with Anakin’s child does not stop Palpatine from planting seeds of hatred between them. He simply changes tactics.

He asks Anakin if he can be so sure that he is the father. Obi Wan did once have a reputation of sleeping around. He has had many lovers in the past. What’s to say he still doesn’t have them? That he hasn’t simply gotten better at hiding it?

There’s not point asking him about it. He will merely lie. There are many things to be gained from carrying the Chosen One’s child, especially when the Jedi do not trust the chosen one himself but trust you. Positions of power to be had and the idea that maybe the child will take its fathers power without his personality, maybe they can mold them from younger and get something more useful to them.

So Anakin doesn’t ask Obi Wan about Palpatine’s accusations. Doesn’t allow them to light until it is too late.

The doubts do show their head though. When they fuck Anakin cannot help but babble about how the child growing inside Obi Wan is his. Cannot help but beg in their post-coital bliss for confirmation that it is his. Not anyone else’s.

Obi Wan doesn’t understand the uncertainty. The child is defiantly Anakin’s but he gives the assurances anyway, if slightly annoyed after the tenth time the question is asked within one night.

Trouble is they only fuel Anakin’s doubts. Palpatine said Obi Wan would lie about it and Anakin cannot shake the idea that maybe it isn’t his.

By the time Order 66 goes out Anakin has convinced himself the child isn’t his. Convinced himself that Obi Wan betrayed him then tried to use his status as the ‘Chosen One’ for personal gains (and Anakin wouldn’t have minded if that was the truth of things so long as Obi Wan had told him instead of lying to his face about it again and again).

No. This child isn’t his but Padme’s is and he has to save her so his child can have their mother.

((He never finds out the truth. Isn’t there when Obi Wan births a child on the hot desert that is Tatooine all alone. Isn’t there to see that the child is the spitting image of their father. That they are the spitting image of Anakin Skywalker))

it’s tradition in the Jedi Order that if a Padawan is able to bare a child they have their Master’s child before they are knighted.

The only reason I even gave this idea any recognition before passing it off (and instead had it consume me for the entirety of the weekend) is the following mental images:

- Obi Wan heavily pregnant with Qui Gon’s child during the events of The Phantom Menace
- Obi Wan attending Qui Gon’s funeral while heavily pregnant with his child
- Obi Wan being technically not allowed to be Anakin’s master until after the child is born (yet Anakin is still basically dumped into his care its just not **official**)
+ All the other mental images that go with the above (there are a few)

- Anakin being like ~3 months pregnant with Obi Wan’s kid during Attack of the Clones
 - Anakin marrying Padme while pregnant with Obi Wan’s kid

((Also the heavily!Ritualistic sex that it would end up being. Also that))
Anon: Your last prompt fic has me in such an angst mood. Like what if Kylo miscarried after he was already back with his family and they don't know wether they should try to comfort him or not bc he's stubborn and in denial and desperately trying to cling to the illusion that he has any control. Leias torn between want to hold him and want to get him to medical but just like everyone else she's not sure what to say that won't upset him or push him away. Ahhh bless you for the angst

My response:

Oh gods don’t do this to me anon.

Because he’s hurting. He’s hurting so much and he knows he needs medical attention or else he could die as well but he just cannot do it. It takes a week before Leia finally FINALLY manages to convince him to get the medical attention he needs because he just lashes out at anyone who so much as suggests the idea so they drop it (at least until Luke can get back). For the week he’s just a constant stream of anger, after he gets the medical attention he just cries for two days and no-one is sure which is worse. Because the anger was dangerous but his grief is just unbearable to watch.
Anon: what if Kylo was Snoke's omega and they never have a child, not for the lack of trying on snoke's part. then kylux happens and bam. how awkward would it be if the baby was ginger?

My response

((I’m calling this a ficlet even thought it is a lot more like a ramble. Also, amazing idea and it would be hilariously awkward but I deal with vaguely distressing))

It had only been one time . Kylo and Hux had stumbled together into bed after a victory once. That wasn’t because they didn’t enjoy it. No, they had both enjoyed it very much. It was just, when they woke up in the morning, they remembered the being whose wrath they would both suffer under if it was ever found out. No matter how much they wanted it (and there were many days where they wanted nothing else but to drag the other to their quarters and relive that night) neither would risk his anger so it never happened again.

It only happened once so it made better sense when Ren’s stomach swelled with child that the father was the Snoke. That the father was the one who had tried again and again to have his seed take in the womb of his omega. Not the one who Kylo slept with during a time his body shouldn’t even be that fertile in.

It’s unmistakable though. The small patch of orange hair and nose that could only come from the that man.

Kylo stares down at his child’s face, his body tired and exhausted from the birth. He stares down at them and wonders if the Supreme Leader will figure it out.

He fears what will happen if he does.

Oh man but imagine pregnant!Hux (Yeah switching it up for this one read a REALLY GOOD fic and it put it in my head) being sent to the Resistance because of fears of Snoke being a threat to the child (Kylo following after later because he has to cover their trail? IDK)

Like first of all the Resistance is NOTHING like the First Order despite the few shared similarities they have (they are both military at their cores).

Second of all him dealing with the Skywalker clan alone:

Because first of all you have Leia & Luke who are both with Han & nobody gives a shit. Rey who’s Luke’s daughter with Han and Hux spends like the whole time until Kylo shows up trying to figure out which Skywalker twin Han’s actually married to (’neither of them’ Kylo tells him when he does arrive ‘unless something happened after I left’). Han just generally being a father with very few expectations but suborn as hell (watching Han + Leia argue makes Hux suddenly REALLY aware of where Kylo got his temper from). Plus Luke who’s accepted him as family & is kindly advising him on what to expect with the pregnancy. Oh and Poe who’s been connected to the family for so long he basically IS family and Finn who the original trio just took one look at and went ‘yep he’s one of us now’ so he’s now just been adopted by the family as well (and its not fair that he’s taking that fact a lot easier then Hux is)

_____________________________

So continuing on my Pregnant!Hux thing I’m on tonight, imagine if he defected before the events of the movie.

So he shows up to Leia & “basically adopted son” Poe who are bearable if a little friendly on Poe’s part (Hux and Leia actually get on rather well once they get over whole ‘you are literally the leader of my opposition’ thing)

But then *handwave* happens and the map to Luke ends up at Rey and Rey (+Finn) to Han and Han to the Resistance.

Just Han’s like “found my daughter, got the map to get Luke and… my son’s coming back? Wonderful. I’ll deal with him after Luke.”

Then Luke who’s like a serious Jedi Master™ one moment, happy kind of dorky father/brother/lover the next (and THAT is the moment Hux realizes that Ben + Rey share a father but are also cousins through Luke + Leia)

And THEN Kylo shows up & if Hux thought the Skywalkers were a shit show before that was NOTHING on what they’re like now.

Dilemma I have when it comes to my ‘base headcanon’ for Rey’s birth:

On one hand I want her to be born in a hospital because of the other base headcanon of anyone descendant from Padme having rough births.

On the other hand I really want her to be born on the Falcon because of symbolic reasons.

But okay people just imaging:

Heavily pregnant Luke finishing the last steps of his new Jedi School.

Heavily pregnant Luke helping people deal with the having Force-sensitive children and offering them his help in teaching them how to use their powers.

Literally-going-to-pop-any-day Luke teaching the first group of pupils about hte Force and the Jedi.

Just Luke being all the Last Jedi™ while clearly heavily pregnant

Unborn Ben is like the most unco-operative thing ever. Whenever someone wants to feel him he goes completely still, whenever his mother is trying to sleep he kicks up a storm. He’s the absolute worst when Han is around, like nobody knows why but if Han is within even 5m of Leia Ben seems determined to make his mother’s (and therefore my extension father’s) life miserable. As soon as his movement can be felt Han is kicked out of Leia’s bed because if he’s not around at least she has a chance of a good nights sleep.

Rey’s fairly average for the most part. She gives Luke the average amount of grief & lets other people feel her same as any other child. Except for Han, she will reliable move for Han. Like every time he touches Luke’s stomach she is there, pressing against it. Han freaking LOVES IT and spends most of his free time cradling Luke’s stomach to feel his kid move. Ben hates it and often mutters at her through Luke’s stomach how she doesn’t need to do that for him & he doesn’t deserve it.

Anon: So like. Thanks to your blog, whenever I see that "he's actually in pain" post now all I can see is a pregnant Kylo who is so desperate to keep himself focused/keep what little grip he has on the force that despite how panicked he is at feeling the life in him faltering since Chewies shot, punches the wound knowing full well he's just making it worse. He figures it's too late anyway, he needs to finish this mission at any cost. Also I am ruined.

Me:

Hahahahaha.

I’m sorry??? You’re welcome???

But seriously I’m glad I’m not the only one suffering from those posts because of that idea (and damn you explained it well).

((But like imagine if Rey knows. She found out about it in the interrogation and while she isn’t yet trained in the Force once she felt it she couldn’t shake it, felt drawn to the presence and seemed constantly aware of it whenever she was close enough to him to feel it. She feels the life bleed out of it just as he does. Feels it going from a bright presence to nothingness. It finishes fading as the ground breaking separates them and she thinks she sees his face turn from anger into pure uncontrolled grief - but then again it might just be a trick of her eyes))

((Alternatively the fetus perishes the second the shot landed. Kylo is beating it because his body failed to protect them. He failed to protect them. But he keeps fighting because he has to gain something out of the loss. Has to do something to make up for the failure))

((… I’ll see myself out))

But seriously. Thank you for the message. I love hearing people’s headcanons / ideas (both happy and sad) - especially when they are partially inspired by my works / ramblings.

Anon: Don't be sorry, I am happily ruined. And omg, Rey knowing. She knows what he stands to lose and her heart hurts for him but it's not like she can just not fight back when he's somehow still coming at her trying to fight. She does her best to just block his attacks and not exacerbate his condition but in the end when she leaves him there bleeding out in the snow she just knows. Your headcanons/works are gold, tbh at this point you have me convinced that Rey as Han/Luke's kid is basically canon

Me:

Okay, I won’t be sorry. We can be happily ruined together.

It’s strange in a way. The two of them will be the only ones to know two lives were lost in Ren’s decision to plunge the lightsaber through his father. To everyone else it is just Han Solo they have to mourn, but they know there is another. One who didn’t even get a chance of a life to celebrate despite the sadness of their deaths.

I mean. Rey is Han & Luke’s kid. How could she not be? That’s the actual canon. Fight me if you think otherwise. (I will convert all to this idea - to the point where JJ Abrams will be forced to make Trans!Luke canon as well as this because no-one will accept any other version of events)

ADDITION - 7/25/16

Different Anon: So, saw you were talkin about Kylo being pregnant when he got shot and promptly decided to keep fucking himself up in order to stay in the game- you have my attention šŸ‘€

Me:

Yes, yes I was talking about it and I’m glad I got your attention (because I like people who also like this idea)

But I mean there is no way for a fetus to survive a shot like that with where it hit. Maybe if he could stop and focus all his control of the Force on making sure it survived long enough for them both to get medical attention it could (his grandfather kept himself alive using his powers alone for years) but he cannot let the girl escape especially now he knows the Resistance must have the map to his uncle. So he keeps hitting the wound. Keeps beating it and only making it worse and it pains him. But pain is the source of his power, pain and grief turned into rage. And rage he will. He will cut the traitor down, take the girl back with him to the Supreme Leader. Maybe that will make up for the new user he can feel bleeding out of his body. The Supreme Leader at the very least will be satisfied. Even if Kylo doubts it will resolve any of the pain he feels.
So while I was pokemon go walking I was thinking about Hux & Kylo’s relationship to illegitimacy in light of the new information we have on Huxs character.

(cut because WOW this got long)

Because Hux clearly feels uncomfortable about his status (reasonably so when you consider how his father talked about him) and is trying to prove to the galaxy that he is worthy of his father’s name.

Meanwhile if you told Ren that Han had disowned him his reaction would be
1) Why would I give a shit?
2) Good fucking riddence.

Ren is much more attached to what he inherited from his mother(’s side of the family) and she couldn’t deny him even if she wanted to.

((and if you add my long standing its-basically-my-canon of Rey being Han + Luke’s kid, his family does include at least one illegitimate child (I mean did Han and Leia ever get married?) who was treated the exact same as him the legitimate child (again if he is in fact legitimate)))

So I think he’d end up justifying Huxs hang up with proving himself worthy of Hux Sr’s name (and general discomfort at the fact he is a bastard) to himself as Hux feeling threatened by the fact he needs his father to recognize him in order to keep his inherited title (because his mother has no title worth inheriting).

This all culminates in the idea of Kylo falling pregnant with Huxs child and them arguing about whether or not they now have to get married.

Because to Hux there is no way he’ll allow his child to be a bastard. He will not allow them to be constantly afraid of their father refusing to acknowledge them. And does Kylo really find the idea of Hux as a father so detestable that he’d rather the child carry the title of bastard?

Meanwhile, to Kylo, the idea that the child HAS to be legally recognized as Hux’s is an insult to him. Does Hux not realize the child is already inheriting the legacy of one of the most powerful families in the galaxy? Is the title of descendant of Darth Vader not good enough that he feels the child will somehow be disadvantages if it does not take his name instead? (What does it mean when a man hung up on titles doesn’t want his child to have your title?)

Neither will give the other’s argument much thought and the argument ends up a screaming match with both of them sleeping by themselves that night (or worse - they have the argument late in the pregnancy and Kylo goes into labor from it).

((Bonus Super Duper Problematic Statement Round: Hux says that he’d rather his child be aborted then a bastard; Kylo says if Hux is so desperate to have a child with his name he should find a titleless common girl then marry and impregnate her))
When Rey is born Han coos over her that she isn’t going to be Force-sensitive like the rest of the family. No she’s his precious baby girl and isn’t going to get involved in all that ā€œForce nonsenseā€ and is instead going to take after her father.

Luke & Leia both know she’s Force-sensitive possibly will be the strongest in the family. They both decide not to tell him (ā€it’ll be fine. He’ll realize when she starts floating stuff. For now let him have itā€)

Han does realize when Rey starts floating stuff. He doesn’t take it well. He knows both Luke and Leia knew. Knows that they hid it from him. He’s angry that they lied to him. Angry that they let him think for the previous four years that maybe he’d have a kid that’s not involved with the Force. Maybe he’d have a kid that he can have the normal father worries instead of worrying that they’ll get dragged into keeping the fate of the universe in order.

He does what he always does after a particularly rough right with them - he leaves.

After a couple of months he’s finally cooled down enough and turns around to head back home. It’s on his way he receives a message from Leia.

Something’s happened at the new Jedi Temple Luke set up. Their son, Ben, killed all the other students and fled. They don’t know where Rey is but the most logical assumption is that she is among the fallen. And Luke? ā€œHe blames himself. He left. I don’t know where too. He says he can’t face anyone until he’s figured it all out.ā€

Han takes Luke’s cue and turns around again (ignoring Chewie’s demanding questions of what he is doing and why) - if it’s good enough for the ā€˜Jedi Master’ then it’s good enough for Han Solo. Anyway he doesn’t know if he could live with just Leia. He loves her (he loves her so much) but it’s never really been just them. And he’s gotten used to having a family, used to having two children running around underfoot. He doesn’t know if he can go back to Leia, especially when Leia does not come with Luke (people may call him a pervert for keeping the twins to himself but they have always been a package deal to him - even before he found out they were related).

So he tries to return to being the man he was before he met the twins. Tries to become who he was before he got a family. For years he tries but never finds a way to fill the hole in his heart that the loss of them creates. Not even loosing the Falcon cuts as deep (nor does it make the pain less like he hoped it would).

Then one day he finds her. Finds her with his ship and a map to Luke. She looks like Luke but knows ships like him and Force her name is Rey.

He may not like the Force nonsense but he knows it better then most in the galaxy. He knows when it is trying to tell you something. And it is telling him something. It is giving him his ship, his daughter, a map to Luke, and a reason to go to the Resistance, all tied up in a neat package. It is telling him to go home. Telling him that he can still take his family back.

He believes it. Believes it and dies because he stupidly believes it over his own mind when it comes to his son.
Kylo Ren wearing nothing but black fabric that starts at his hips (think Leia’s slave outfit minus the top but in black) and a gold bangle wrapped around his bicep nursing a infant who has a tuft of curly black hair.
Oh man but knowing Hux’s backstory image how much it’d hurt if Kylo ran back to his parents after finding out he was pregnant. Because

a) he clearly trusts his family enough to know they will help him in his time of need

b) he doesn’t seem to care that doing so will make his child a bastard
Okay but Padme having to help/support Obi Wan through birth because Anakin can feel his pain through their bond and is basically doubled over from it himself and therefore completely useless.
So on the kink meme someone had a prompt where both Finn and Rey were Luke’s kid (different mothers)

and me being the mpreg whore I am instantly went ā€˜Lando’s Finn’s father’

But I mean I already headcanon Lando and Han being exes (who are possibly still legally married - ramble for another day) so my mind is giving me: a drunken threesome between the three of them where Lando and Han share Luke between them and Luke ends up pregnant from it with twins who have different fathers.
Obi Wan: Aren’t you going to ask me who the father is?

The council: Anakin hasn’t disappeared with clear murderous intent and instead is guiltily sulking around. It isn’t hard to guess.
Me with a Star Wars prequels mpreg verse: Anakin or Obi Wan could get pregnant and really which one will in this fic / headcanon depends on my mood.

Me with a Star Wars prequels omega!Verse: Anakin is an alpha. Anakin. Is. An. Alpha. Obi Wan + Padme are either Betas or Omegas depending on my mood. But Anakin is an Alpha
Things my mind gives me to make me sad:

Ten year old Ben Solo being handed a baby Rey Skywalker and being told, ā€œThis is your baby sister. It’s your job to protect her.ā€

Twenty years later Kylo Ren fighting Rey (who has no last name) in a forest after he had killed their shared father trying to ignore the words that echo through his head: ā€œThis is your baby sister. It’s your job to protect her.ā€
So while messing around with a couple Star Wars prequel trilogy mpreg hypotheticals (which will probably never be posted because my brain kept only giving me half-ideas) I’ve come to a conclusion:

If Anakin is the one pregnant generally things turn out better. If Obi Wan is the one pregnant generally things turn out much the same (and if not worse).
